Description

KIZOLID-600 contains linezolid 600 mg, an oxazolidinone prescription antibiotic used against certain susceptible Gram-positive bacteria. A doctor may prescribe it for hospital-acquired or community-acquired pneumonia, complicated or uncomplicated skin and soft-tissue infections, or infections caused by vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium when appropriate. Linezolid works by blocking bacterial protein production, preventing susceptible bacteria from growing. It does not treat viral illnesses and is not suitable for infections caused only by Gram-negative bacteria. Treatment should follow medical evaluation, culture findings when available, and antibiotic guidance.

Take KIZOLID-600 exactly as prescribed and for the full duration directed by the doctor. The tablet may generally be taken with or without food and should be swallowed with water. Take each dose at the recommended time, and do not change the schedule, stop early, share the medicine, or use leftover tablets for another illness. If a dose is missed, follow the advice provided by the doctor or pharmacist instead of taking an extra dose. Completing treatment as directed helps control the infection and reduces the risk of antibiotic resistance. Contact the prescriber if symptoms do not improve, become worse, or new symptoms appear during or after treatment.

Before taking KIZOLID-600, tell the doctor about all prescription medicines, over-the-counter products, supplements, and herbal remedies being used. Linezolid can interact seriously with antidepressants and other medicines that increase serotonin, some opioid pain medicines, decongestants, and drugs that raise blood pressure. Also mention high blood pressure, thyroid disease, diabetes, seizures, kidney or liver problems, pregnancy, and breastfeeding. Blood-count monitoring may be needed, especially during longer treatment, because linezolid can reduce platelets or other blood cells. Common side effects include diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, headache, or changes in taste. Seek urgent medical help for breathing difficulty, facial swelling, severe rash, unusual bleeding, extreme weakness, confusion, agitation, fever, sweating, muscle stiffness, tremors, or poor coordination. Report blurred or altered colour vision, numbness, tingling, severe or persistent diarrhoea, repeated low blood sugar, or unexplained nausea, rapid breathing, and unusual tiredness. Longer treatment may increase the risk of optic or peripheral nerve damage. Avoid large amounts of high-tyramine foods or drinks unless the prescriber says they are safe. Keep the tablets away from children. This information does not replace the product leaflet or advice from a doctor or pharmacist.
