Penicillin Combination Antibiotic
KIMOX-CV Dry Syrup is a prescription oral antibiotic containing amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium. It is used for susceptible bacterial infections of the ears, sinuses, chest, skin, urinary tract, and other areas as prescribed.
KIMOX-CV Dry Syrup is a prescription combination antibiotic containing amoxicillin and potassium clavulanate. It may be prescribed for susceptible bacterial infections of the middle ear, sinuses, throat, chest, the skin, urinary tract, or teeth. Amoxicillin is a penicillin antibiotic that helps stop susceptible bacteria from building protective cell walls. Clavulanate blocks certain bacterial enzymes that may reduce amoxicillin's effectiveness. This combination does not treat colds, influenza, or other viral illnesses. A doctor should confirm that an infection is bacterial and decide if this strength is suitable based on their age, weight, history, and symptoms.
Use KIMOX-CV Dry Syrup only in the amount and for the duration prescribed by a healthcare professional. Reconstitute the dry powder exactly as directed on the label or by a pharmacist, using the stated volume of water. Shake the bottle well before every dose and measure the liquid with an oral syringe, medicine cup, or calibrated spoon, not a household spoon. Taking it at the start of a meal may reduce stomach discomfort. Give each dose at the scheduled time, complete the prescribed course, and never share the medicine or save leftover suspension for another illness. If a dose is missed, ask the doctor or pharmacist what to do rather than doubling the next dose.
Before giving KIMOX-CV Dry Syrup, tell a doctor about an allergy to amoxicillin, clavulanate, penicillins, or cephalosporins. Also mention kidney or liver disease, previous jaundice linked to this medicine, glandular fever, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and all medicines or supplements being used. Common side effects include diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort, skin rash, or oral thrush. Seek urgent care for trouble breathing, swelling of the face or throat, fainting, blistering or peeling skin, or worsening rash. Contact a doctor promptly for persistent vomiting, watery or bloody diarrhoea, strong abdominal pain, unusual tiredness, dark urine, pale stools, or yellowing of the skin or eyes. Do not use the suspension if it is expired, stored incorrectly, or kept longer than allowed after preparation. Keep the bottle closed, follow refrigeration and disposal instructions, and keep it away from children. Different amoxicillin-clavulanate strengths are not always interchangeable, so never substitute another suspension without professional advice. Use antibiotics only for confirmed or strongly suspected bacterial infections, because unnecessary or incomplete use can promote antibiotic resistance. This information is for general awareness and does not replace the product leaflet or advice from a doctor or pharmacist.
