Description

KICEF-0 combines cefixime, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, with ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. Cefixime interferes with bacterial cell-wall formation, while ofloxacin blocks enzymes that bacteria need to copy and repair their genetic material. A doctor may consider this combination for selected infections caused by susceptible bacteria after assessing the symptoms, medical history, likely organism, and local resistance patterns. It does not treat colds, influenza, or other viral infections. Because this fixed combination contains two antibiotics, it should not be used without a prescription or as a routine treatment for every infection.

Take KICEF-0 only in the dose and for the duration prescribed by a qualified healthcare professional. Swallow the tablet with water and follow the food-related instructions provided by the doctor or printed on the pack. Complete the prescribed course even if symptoms improve, unless the prescriber advises you to stop. Do not change the dose, share the tablets, or use leftover medicine for a later illness. Antacids or products containing aluminium, magnesium, iron, zinc, or calcium may interfere with ofloxacin absorption, so ask a doctor or pharmacist how to space them. Never double the next dose after missing one without professional advice.

Before taking KICEF-0, inform the doctor about allergies to cefixime, cephalosporins, penicillins, ofloxacin, or other fluoroquinolones. Also disclose kidney disease, liver problems, seizures, heart-rhythm disorders, low potassium, diabetes, myasthenia gravis, previous tendon problems, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and every medicine or supplement being used. Possible side effects include nausea, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, headache, dizziness, or changes in taste. Seek urgent medical help for breathing difficulty, facial swelling, a severe rash, fainting, seizures, severe confusion, or an irregular heartbeat. Ofloxacin can rarely cause serious tendon inflammation or rupture, peripheral nerve damage, central nervous system effects, blood-sugar disturbances, and worsening of myasthenia gravis. Stop activity and contact a doctor immediately if tendon pain, swelling, weakness, burning, tingling, numbness, or sudden changes in mood or behaviour occur. Persistent, watery, or bloody diarrhoea also needs prompt medical attention because antibiotic-associated bowel inflammation can develop during or after treatment. Kidney impairment may require treatment adjustment. Keep the tablets in their original packaging, protected from heat and moisture, and away from children. Use this medicine only when a qualified prescriber determines that the expected benefit outweighs its risks.
