Description

KIZOLID Dry Syrup contains linezolid, an oxazolidinone antibiotic used for infections caused by susceptible Gram-positive bacteria. A doctor may prescribe it for pneumonia, skin and soft-tissue infections, or vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium infections when clinically appropriate. Linezolid works by blocking bacterial protein production, which prevents susceptible bacteria from growing. It is not intended for viral illnesses such as colds or influenza and does not provide reliable treatment for Gram-negative infections alone. Use should be based on medical assessment, the suspected organism, culture results when available, and local antibiotic guidance.

Use KIZOLID Dry Syrup only in the dose and for the duration prescribed by a healthcare professional. The dry powder should be reconstituted exactly according to the product label or pharmacist's instructions using the specified amount of water. Before each dose, mix the prepared suspension as directed and measure it with an oral syringe, calibrated cup, or medicine spoon rather than a household spoon. Give each dose at the recommended time and complete the prescribed course, even if symptoms improve earlier. Do not double a missed dose, share the medicine, or keep leftover suspension for a future illness. Follow the storage and discard period stated on the pack.

Before using KIZOLID Dry Syrup, tell the doctor about all medicines, supplements, and herbal remedies being used. Linezolid can interact with antidepressants and other medicines that raise serotonin, certain opioid pain medicines, decongestants, and medicines that increase blood pressure. Also disclose high blood pressure, thyroid disease, diabetes, seizures, kidney or liver problems, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and phenylketonuria if the product contains phenylalanine. Common side effects may include diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, headache, or taste changes. Seek urgent care for breathing difficulty, facial swelling, severe rash, unusual bleeding, extreme weakness, confusion, agitation, fever, sweating, muscle stiffness, tremors, or poor coordination. Contact the doctor promptly for blurred or altered colour vision, numbness or tingling, severe or bloody diarrhoea, repeated low blood sugar, or unexplained nausea and rapid breathing. Blood-count monitoring may be needed during longer treatment because linezolid can reduce platelets or other blood cells. Longer use may also increase the risk of optic or peripheral nerve damage. Avoid large amounts of tyramine-rich foods or drinks unless the prescriber confirms they are safe. Keep the medicine away from children and use it only within the storage period printed on the label.
